VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Clerical Assistants
Volunteers are needed to enter volunteer records anytime during the week (Mon-Fri 8am-5pm). Strong computer skills required.

Volunteer Placement Specialists
Friendly, outgoing folks are needed to help welcome new volunteers to the Broward County Chapter and help them identify their appropriate volunteer position. Human Resources and/or Volunteer Management experience would be helpful for this position. Good communication and people skills are a must.

Community Disaster Education Presenters
Several volunteers are needed to make contact and schedule community disaster education presentations within the community. This opportunity is ideal for those with daytime availability who are not able to come in to the office. Individuals should be able to communicate effectively over the phone. A brief orientation will be provided. If you are willing to work from home and available during the day then this is your opportunity to help prepare your community for emergencies.

Caseworkers
The office of Emergency Services is looking for volunteers who would like to interact with clients directly by helping them through the emergency recovery process. If you are interested please give us a call. We need someone who can be available at least once a week, during the day, for 3 to 6 hours.

Disaster action Team member
Assist victims of house fires and other disasters. D.A.T. members respond to emergencies on an on call basis.

Media Action Team Member
Support local Red Cross crisis communications efforts in the aftermath of a local disaster.
